Tax Advice

On 8 December, our local friendly (yes he really was!!) taxman was a guest on Tony's show. John Burling gave alot of useful information which was of particular interest to sole traders, self employed and small businesses.

He explained that the tax office (or Her Majesty's Revune & Customs Service - as they are now known), have updated their image and website recently.

The taxman, it seems, is also aware of the credit crunch and several systems are in place to help those who feel they may have a problem meeting their next tax payment due at the end of January. There is a new helpline on 0845 302 1435. They also have lots of detailed information on their website:

The important thing is to get in touch as soon as you think that you may have a problem. Payments by installment may also be possible.
